  1. In this district the travelling people most commonly found are the Carties, the Lees, the Wards, the Stokes and Mrs Casey. They come to the district before the September fair and the January fair.
    The wemon went about selling hair-pins, boot-laces, stood's, brooches, and meddles. They buy hourse hair, feathers, rags and bottles. Some of them have no baskets selling thing's they come to the door begging, if you give them what they ask for they will ask for more.
