I was goin up the lane wan night wid the dog.

Anyhow, when I was at the kiln I saw a light shinin' up in the ould graveyard
I wasn't afraid so I said to myself "I'll gup an' see if it's a ghost
When I was passing the castle I saw a wonderful lookin' woman.
She was all green on;y her face an' that was shinin' like the moon.
I got a bit of a start, an' when I looked at the dog his eyes were like a ball of fire, an' he was shiverin' with fear
The dog nearly died with fright an' he keened all night.
