  1. My home is situated in the townsland of Rathturtin in the Parish of Clough-Bawn and in the Barony of Bantry.
There are twenty five or twenty six families living in the townsland of Rathturtin and about one hundred persons.
The commonest name is Lambert. Most of the houses are made of slates, but some of them are thatched.
There are no houses in ruin, no rivers but some streams. The land is good and fertile and is suitable for grazing and tillage.
