- In the Penal days, there was a man walking along the road near Wexford town. He was an English Protestant; he had a billhook in his hand. A little in front of him walked a priest. When the protestant came nearer, he took the bill-hook from behind his back and cut the priests head off. He then threw the bill-hook under a bush and ran away.
Some years after the man was coming by the place where he had thrown the bill-hook. He fell over it & it cut the foot clean off him.- Informant
