  2. Long ago people went barefooted till fifteen and sixteen years. Now boots are worn by all except the children who go barefooted only in Summer.
    Every night the children wash their feet in water in Summer. They throw out the water when they have done. It is said that it is lucky to put a coal in the water before it is thrown out.
    Boots are made and repaired locally in this district. There are three shoemakers, James Skelly, Carrigeen Paddy Skelly Carrigeen, James
