    When the groom takes the bride to his own house, this is called the “hauling home” Nearly all the guests bring a present to the bride.
    When they are married a month the bride goes back to her own home for a week. Then when she is leaving her mother gives her a new feather bed.

  2. Marriages usually take place during Shrove in this district. Shrove Tuesday is sometimes called pancake Tuesday because people used to make and eat pancakes on that night.
    Monday or Wednesday were supposed to be the luckiest days for marriage and Thursday and Friday are supposed to be unlucky days.
