field in Fortwilliam , in Peter Shea's field in Forthill, in James Skelly's field in Rathcline these forts are situated.
There is a fort in our field and it is said that there used to be horses galloping in it and there were horse soldiers, and there used to be funerals seen passing through it. The whole place used to be lighted up, and the fairies heard playing, dancing, and singing.
The forts are a round circle with earth, and trees round.
It is supposed that there is a big flag, and a crock of gold in some forts. There is also a hole over the flag.
Nobody ever ploughs, or cuts the trees around our fort. If they did the fairies would fix it again. The Danes built some forts for a hiding place from the Orangemen.
