  2. A drowning
    About five years ago there was a man drowned at the Harbour in Lanesboro whose name was Patrick or Pothel Farrell. It was a dark night on Christmas Eve. It is supposed that he had drink taken and did not notice himself walk down the step. He lived in Clonfower.
    A drowning
    There was another Local drowning in Carrastrawley aged 30. He was drowned coming home from a wedding in a quarry hole.
    A burning
    There was a burning in Newtowncashel about a year ago. Tipper N. S. was burned down. It is said that it was fire that fell on the floor.
