    I heard that a lot of young men wished to marry the Blessed Virgin and she did not know which of them to accept. She gave a rod to each of them and said she would marry the owner of the rod that would bear a blossom on the following day.
    Next day St Joseph's rod bore a white blossom and then the Blessed Virgin knew that he was the man God wished her to marry.
