    when my mother was young. There is a lot of stockings and socks knitted in this district. There is no thread spun in the homes now, but there used to be. There are only two spinning wheels in this district. I do not know of any special clothes worn on feast days, but at weddings the straw-boys disguise themselves. When a person is dead in this district the relatives wear black crape on their arms, and some of the men wear black ties. The women who are nearly related to the dead person/wife. mother, and sisters) wear black dresses at the wake and funeral, and afterwards.
