    people of this district used never put on a shoe on their feet until they were ten or twelve years of age. Sometimes some of them used to go in their bare feet all through their lives.
    Long ago people believed if they washed their feet at night that it was not lucky to throw out the water that night. So they used to keep it until the next morning to throw it out.
