  1. You Catholics of Ireland those verses I pen down,
    Concerning this grand chapel,
    that now stands in Delvin town.
    It has gone up stone by stone in towering toward the sky,
    In honour of Almighty God our Lord who rules on high.

    From five distant quarries those stones came large and small,
    And were brought into Delvin town to build this Holy Wall.
    III
    Mr. Davis was contractor all from the town of Trim,
    Mr.Duignan oversee'r all credit due to him.
