  1. In this district, baskets are made from sallow rods. The potato baskets are more usually made in this district.
    A man named George Ogle from Rooskey makes baskets.It is likely that his father worked at the same trade.
    When the rods are not going to be peeled,they can be cut during this month and potato baskets are made.
    When they are to be peeled, they are cut when they begin to bud, they are then steeped in a pit of water to loosen the skin. when peeled they are left to dry and then made into fancy articles.
    The frame of the basket is made with the strong rods and the fine ones are plaited in and out through the frame.
