  1. The fairs used to be held on the roads long ago. There used to be a fair at Bective. They called it the hiring day. The people used to sell and buy sheep and cattle. All the servants boys and girls used to dance from morning to night there. The men that wanted a servant used to have a white stick with them. The people used to come from all over the country to that fair
    The horse fairs are held in Longwood Kells and Drogheda. The fairs are held on the streets and green in Trim
