“This is a true story. It happened to a man, now is dead.”
This is a true story. It happened to a man, now is dead. I have known him and have worked with him. This music is to be heard from Stubbse's Hill to Cunningham's Gates near Drogheda.
A man called Thomas Fay lived in Shallon, One night he was going home the Beamore Rd. about ten O'Clock in the Winter time. As he came near Cunningham's Gates, he felt he would like a smoke, he had no matches about him. He saw a tall man standing at the Gates dressed in a black Cloak. He went over to him and said, "Would you have a match". No sooner had he the words said but he got a dreadful smell and he walked on.
The next night was Saturday Night and as he was going home he called at our house and asked one of us to leave him at the Cross of Beamore. I said yes and got my Bicycle and walked with him to Stubbse's Hill.
At Stubbses Hill he got a shock he clung into me and said, "Do you hear the music there is something after me",(continues on next page)- Collector
