    This is a true story, Cordugan is the name of the road going from Monasterboice to Mellifont.

    "One day when a horse was going from Monasterboice to Mellifont with food as the horse was half way on his hourney a man who wanted to see what had the horse in the baskets, stopped the Horse and looked in the basket. When he saw it was bread he took the bread out of the basket.
    "The road was ever after called Cordugan because Dugan was the man's name."

    This story is really true. I seen the women it happened to. One of the women was named Ann Gogarty and the other was named Mary Black.
    They lived next door to each other. They owned a cow each and they grazed the cows in the big field near the little railway bridge
