    Five Roads = I was told by a man that a Lord who lived in Barmeath Castle was one day out walking with a man companion. I was told that when he came to this particular field that it looked so oblong that he said to his companion that he would measure it. They measured it and saw that there was 1 acre and one rood in it so they descided to put "Five Roads" on it for short.

    Down some distance from that is a "Badger's Wood", and the badgers are supposed to haunt this field by night

    Bragh Field = This field got its name from the "Shining slope facing the horizon.

    Mull a Pheadach = got its name from the "Top of the hill of the Plovers"

    Treasna = This field has an Irish name (Trasna) and it is called so because there are a number of
