North of the Moat. When the Cromwellian soldiers were ravaging Tipperay the Fitzgeralds killed two to their so as to guard the gold they had.
People say the gold is still hidden in a cellar underneath the castle and the two soldiers are still guarding it. The old graveyard of Kilfeacle was near the castle and there is signs of it there yet.
Kilfeacle was the scene of many conflict between the Desmonds and the Butlers. The city was burned and plundered. The last time it was burned the Desmonds gave two weeks drawing silver and lead to Dungrud in the glen of Aherlow.
When King William's siege train was going from Waterford to Limerick it passed through Kilfeacle and there is a field through which the old road passed and it is known as "Limerick Hill"
