One night a family in Golden-mean Cashel were sitting around the fire.

One night a family in Golden, near Cashel, were sitting around the fire. The night was very wet and windy, and the rain was beating against the window-panes.
Just as the man of the house was about to light his pipe, he heard a voice saying at the door: "Do not light your pipe." The man went on lighting his pipe, but to his great surprise it was "quenched." A gust of wind came down the chimney and it blew out the fire & the people were left in darkness.
They blessed(?) themselves and immediately the fire was lit(?)
