  1. Once upon a time, a woman & her husband lived beside The Rock of Cashel. The man used to take a drop & the wife did not like this at all. At last she made up her mind to give him a fright to see the effect it would have on him.
    One night she dressed up as a ghost by putting a white sheet around her. She sat on a certain stile by which her husband would have to pass. About 12 o'clock - midnight - the husband came along staggering & singing as usual. Suddenly he spied the white object on the stile.
    "Good-night," he said, quite unconcerned. "Ochón! Ochón!" groaned the object.
    "Who are ye, anyway?" he said calmly.
