  1. Their is the ruins of an old house still to be seen in Mr. O. Briensfield on the road to Knockaney. People lived in it about one hundred years ago, Dempseys were their names.
    One night they gave lodgin to three Irish soldiers but during the night they heard a noise. The three soldiers hid but the English found them and killed them, afterwards they knocked the house. Now the ruins of the house is to be seen on a mound of earth covered with briars.
