  1. Once upon a time there lived a man at the foot of Knockfierna. He had a small house with two windows. There was six trees around the house.
    One night the man left one of the windows open. Just as he was going to bed he saw a bat coming in the window. The man got a big stick and hit the bat and knocked him. At that instant it turned into the devil, the man got a bottle of holy water and sprinkled it around the devil and the devil disappeared.
