  1. Once upon a time there lived a man in Glenquin. One night he said he would search the cave under the castle. He went out about midnight. When he was near the cave he heard the roar of a dog. The man ran into the cave but he was blocked by a big dog. The man took out his whip and killed the dog. The man went in farther and he saw a crock of gold. He took the crock in his hands and at that instant he found himself at home sitting in a chair with a crock of gold. The man lived happily ever after.
I got this story from my grandfather Denis Connell.
