  1. The Mystery House
Long ago men used to carry butter on a horse and cart. One night a man was carying butter from Newcastle West to Cork city. It was half past eleven in the night. He was four miles outside Newcastle West when he felt his boot hurting him. It was very dark. All the houses were shut and the lights out. He did not know what to do, when suddenly he saw a light in the distance. It came from a house. The man went over to the house and knocked at the door. An old woman came out to him. "Waht is wrong with you my poor man" said the old woman. So he told her. She brought him in to the house and he laid himself down on a bed that was inside the house. He went asleep. But when he awoke in the morning he found himself inside a fort.
