  1. Once upon a time there was a fort outside Bruree called the fort of the furs.
There was a man living in Bruree named Cooney who was a terrible gambler. He had three farms and had two gambled away.
One night when he was passing through the fort of the furs, he heard a voice that said “Change your life or you’ll rue it.” He was going to gamble with another man . He passed on.
He came to a pier of a gate. There was a hare sitting on it with a pack of cards beside him. He said to Cooney “ Cut these cards. If you cut the ace, if you cut the ace, you will change your life and you will win a lot of money tonight.
He cut the ace, he won 500 pounds and got back his farm and changed his life.
I got this story from my grandfather Thomas O Bonner.
