  1. When going to bed the old people used to say:- Lying on my asleep 'tis to God I give my soul to keep and if I die before I wake I pray to God my soul to take. I do not know when, nor how, nor where, but if I die in mortal sin I'm lost forever,
    When passing by a Crucifix:- O Lord my God by suffering rent, Nailed to the Cross my love to gain, grant thro' Thy Cross my when life is spent, in death Thy mercy I obtain
    When starting work:- Gach nídh ar do shon, a Íosa.
    When awaking in the morning they make the sign of the Cross and say Jesus, Mary and Joseph I give you my heart and my soul.
