  1. Ireland is famous for its many stories connected with Irish history.
In this district a story is often told of Sarsfield. People do not always agree about certain facts in this story. Sarsfield is supposed to have lived in a cave somewhere between Kanturk and Millstreet. Some people say it was the early part of his life but others say it was the later part of his life he spent there.
In this cave he used to meet with his men and give them orders. He always had a good meal ready for them there and people say he used to purchase cattle from the people around the place.
