  1. In olden times there was a school near Kilmurray. This school was not a house but in one corner of the field they made a kind of a house by planting a close hedge of white-thorn about eight feet heigh and they roofed it over with branches and sods.
    In this school there was only one teacher whose name was Mr Herlihy of Berrings and in the depth of winter
