  1. Games played by children in this locality include the following viz:
    Nuts in may.
    A line is marked across the room, (this can be done by stretching a length of cotton across the floor), and, sides having been chosen, the parties arrange themselves at each side of the line, facing each other, and at a given signal the game is begun by one [one] row joining hands and stepping towards the other row and singing:-
    "Here we come gathering nuts in May, nuts in May, nuts in May,
    Here we come gathering nuts in May, on a cold and frosty morning".
    Then the row which has been singing go back to their side of the line and the opposite side advances singing in reply:-
    "And who will you gather for nuts in May, nuts in May, nuts in May,
    And who will you gather for nuts in May
