  1. When Lord Bandon ruled over this district a rich farmer owned a third of Dreenlomane. He had four servant men and one day while they were saving hay they fell asleep. Three of them woke after awhile and continued with their work but the other was awakened by the noise of numerous rats. They surrounded him and as he did not see his three companions he determined to kill one of the rats and so escape. He killed one rat with a stone and the rest ran away through fear. He then continued his work with his companions and he forgot about the rats. When
