  1. About sixty years ago a match was played in a nine acre field. The teams that played were Kilmurry and Clann Droichead. The match was played in Ballytrasna. Kilmurry won the day.
    The goal minder for Kilmurry used to kick the ball from the goals down the field and he used to catch the ball again. Then he would hit it and go back to his place again. He was supposed to be the fastest runner in the Kilmurry football team at that time. They used to say that he was as fast as a hare.
    The players had their own clothes on them but they had their coats off. This was the score:-Kilmurry had six culs and Clann Droicead had five culs.
    A small leather ball was used that time with a cows bladder inside it. It was the local shoemaker that made the cover.
