    skins were worn long ago from the knees down to the foot to protect them. The people used to do some sort of tanning in the leather themselves.
    The clogs were made of timber iron and leather. The sole was made of timber the heels and toes of iron and the uppers of leather. They used to make soles of old hats for their feet in order to save them.
    About 150 year's ago in Bengour lived pipe-makers, curriers, and weavers in one yard. This place is now occupied by a family named Goods.
