    I have a churn at home the width of the top and bottom of it is sixteen inches each. The sides of it are round. The name that is on our churn is 'A machine churn? There are many names of churns, dash churns and barrel churns and many more Our churn is eighteen years old. It takes about a half an hour sometimes to churn. Hot water makes it easy to churn in the Winter. The butter comes up the dash when it is churned then you would have to keep stirring it over and back for a few minutes till it gathers. The dash is taken out and the butter is removed by a tin strainer or by a wooden mug. Firkin butter takes the most salt.
