    not a bad instrument for digging in stoney ground.
    The Shovel - it is usually rounded but variews in having sometimes a point rather sharp; and it is often made square at the end, especially in the northern part of the county: the square shovel is often used for earthing potatoes and trenching corn, for which it is particularly well adaped. The weight of iron in a spade is four and a half pounds, and one-fourth of steel; in a shovel about four pounds.
    The scuffler is one of the best implements of modern inventions.
    The common car, with outward block wheels of three solid pieces, and a wooden axle-tree is the only one seen in the County Kilkenny; its frame rises behind, so as to fit a kish; for drawing lime it has sometimes boarded sides and bottom, and is called a box car; its cheapness
