    is very hard to pull when the switch-grass is with it. It also grows with potatoes and the potatoes are very hard to dig.
    When the season is bad the worse the weeds are. If the season is good they are not so bad but all farmers hate that weed.
    Nettles are only supposed to grow in a rich soil place. Thistles can grow in bad or good soil. Thistles are a very bad weed. They mostly grow along the backs of ditches, and in fields and also in cornfields. The farmers hate them because they have to pull them and it is hard work. If you don't pull them at that time, when the corn is a cutting you have to pick them out of the sheaf and it is a great keep-back at that time.
