  1. There are many forts situated though out this district. There are four, Liscomiskey, Tattenclare, Stranooden adn Black Ran.
    These are a round ring of ground and are situated on top of a hill with a path leading through them. It was supposed to be the fairies who occupied them and it was said that anybody who cut any furze or sallies or interfere with anything growing on the fort would have bad luck for ever. It was also said that anybody who got a hurt on it would never get better.
