  1. The travelling people are not about nowadays but long ago there were plenty of them through the country. They used to come to this district the day before Ballyboy Fair. One would stay in one house and another in another house, that night, and then in the morning they would walk to the fair to beg for money.
    Some of them would have small things such as tie-pins and brooches and in this way they made some money. When the fair was over they went on to the next place.
