  1. The animals in our farm at home are - The horse, cow, pig, calf, hen, duck, and turkey. We have twelve cows and the names of seven of them are Fitz, marpie, small blue, strawberry, dearg, dub and polly. When calling each animal we say as follows.
    cow when calling "how, how."
    when driving "sub, sub,"
    calves when calling "suck, suck",
    when driving "hurish, hurish," or "wattie wattie",
    when driving "cut chas, cutchas",
    hens when calling "tuck, tuck"
    when hunting "cush, cush",
    ducks when calling "fenie, fenie",
    geese when calling "badhy badhy"
    turkeys when calling "bea, bea"
    chickens when calling chick, chick,
    The cowhouse is built with stone and mortar and covered with sheet iron. There are stakes driven in the ground and the cows are tied with chains round their necks attached to these stakes.
