  1. There are a great number of old stories told around our district about strange animals such as a water horse, a water dog, or a wild cat. There is supposed to be a water horse in Lough Bó Lake. I have never heard of any person who have ever seen the horse. There is supposed to be a wild cat in Michael Gormley's fort, Curry, Conway's Cross, Riverstown Co. Sligo. He is supposed to be watching a pot of gold in the fort, and if any person would root for the gold the cat would jump up and scrape them to pieces. The gold is situated in the middle of the fort. There is a ditch all round the gold, and there is a large number of bushes growing on the ditch. There is a cave leading out from the gold, and it is
