  1. The following rhyme was made by Johnnie Walsh Cornaugh about 30 years ago. He died in Sligo asylum.
The following gave him the idea for the rhyme:-
Mr Walker taught in the Protestant School Arva. His sister lived with him Miss Walker was alone in the house one windy night. There was a crack in a wall in the room. The wind blowing through the crack and over a cobweb in the wall made a wierd sound - when Miss Walker heard it and saw the cobweb blowing she thought she had seen a ghost and swooned. Mrs Johnson who then taught in Cornaugh (Gulladuff) suggested to Johnnie Walsh to make a rhyme about it since he was in the habit of making rhymes.
    This is the rhyme.
    Walker's Ghost.
Draw up your seat beside the spark
and give your shins a roast
I'll tell you how old Gibson Camp
    He shot the master's ghost
The master did in Arva dwell for many a long year
Until a ghost came to his house
That filled his heart with fear
