    The Lore Of Certain Days
In this district Friday is considered the luckiest day of the week. When there is any special work to be done such as changing to another house or opening a shop or reaping a field of corn or ploughing a field in the Spring it is usually started on Friday. On the other hand Saturday is considered an unlucky day as the old saying has it "Saturday flitting is short sitting."
Cabbage and onion seed for early Spring transplanting should be sowed before the 1st of November.
