  1. There are many kinds of folk which visit this district. They come at certain times of the year. One kind comes for the October fair. They buy all sorts of horses from the hunter which (..) sixty pounds down to the horses that is not worth five shillings. When that fair is over they stroll along the roads until they reach Ballinasloe. Then they camp there for the fair. On the day of the fair they bring in their horses to the town and get twice hat they paid for them. The gypsies buy mostly all piebald
