- The most common birds in the district are the crow, blackbird, and the robin. The crow is a bird about the size of a duck. It is black in colour and very wild. Its chief food is oats, potatoes, and eggs if they can be got. The crows build their nests on tree tops. Their nests are very clumsy and are built of sticks, twigs, wool and moss.
