very easy to churn with the tumbler. A person could churn either with the foot or the hand. The barrel churn is narrow and high, a dash inside and a handle to twist the dash on the outside. The cream is put into a crock and left for a few days. Then it is put into the churn and churned. When it is churned the buttermilk is taken out of the churn. The butter is then washed and salted.
