- There was a blacksmith named Pat Mulligan in the Parish of Dysart, in the Co. Roscommon; at the beginig of the last century. He used to make ploughs for the the farmers, who lived near him, and also for farmers of the County Galway who used to come long distances to get their ploughs, as he was supposed to be the best ploughmaker in the district, and his ploughs were famous all over the two counties. He was also famous for making spades, shovels, and fire cranes. He used to make coulters and mould boards for(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
