  1. 1. There is an old boreen in Mulbrook Kilcolgan. It is called Boreen Aran for it is leading from Mulbrook to Aran.
    2. There is an old Bridge below Denis Kelly's house which is in Aran Kilcolgan. There was a man passingit one night and bean-Sidhe followed him. He ran as fast as he could until he came to a house. the house was beside a Cross-Roads. The bean-Side could not go any further for it is said that the bean-side can never pass a Cross Roads.
    3. For the making of roads long ago people were paid four pennies a day or a lb of yellow meal.
