    people have a feast in honour of Saint Martin. They kill a goose or some other fowl and they put a mark of blood on the four corners of the out-houses. It is said that a drop of the blood of the fowl which is killed for Saint Martin should be put in every corner of the house.

    St. Patrick was the apostle of Ireland. On the seventeenth of March the people wear shamrock to honour him.
