- Our teacher told us about a week ago to find out all the information we could about the fairy forts from our parents.
It is generally supposed that the fairies are inhabitants of forts. They hold dances and funerals and fairs from fort to fort and lights are seen going across the country to other forts.
Before a person dies the bean-an-side is heard crying for that person. There are four forts in my townland. There was a light seen in one of them. There was a big black dog seen below a fort running along the side of a ditch as a person was going to a shop one night. There are six or seven lights seen every night running from field to field and from the stables with sparks flying out of them and the people say(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
