- In olden times when people had
diseases they found cures by herbs or
plants that grew in the fields and
by Holy Wells. If people had
Rhumatism they went to a Holy
Well and if there was water in it
they washed themselves with it.
Children who had the whooping
cough drunk milk or eat food left
behind by a ferret and the old
people believed it cured them
People with other complaints
that went to Holy Wells dropped
a bit of a stick or a pin into it
to cure headaches or sore eyes.
