  1. Many years ago during the time of the Black and Tans there was a man named Mick Dockery Lisadorn Elphin and he was a very brave hero. He was a rebel fighting against the Black and Tans. He was captured and put into Boyle barrack. One day he escaped and swam the Boyle river and as he was swimming across the Black and Tans saw him and fired at him. They just hit the heel of his boot but he got safe and lucky enough he received no injuries.
    He had also another very narrow escape. One night he was in bed in his own house and
